Before you do something other than vote for Dole, please consider the following thoughts:
There are some legitimate concerns about certain decisions made by Republicans. There are legitimate concerns about just about ALL decisions made by The New and Improved Same as Ever Capitol Hillary Democrats!
The fight is not over with Republican victory in '96. It has only begun. Only with Republican control, however, will you have more of YOUR OWN resources to fight the battle. Further, there are fewer and easier battles to fight against the Republicans than the major long list of insurmountable obstacles placed by the Democrats.
Simply launch a few Libertarians at the Republicans to keep them in shape. IT IS REALLY A 2 STEP PROCESS:
1. Say to the Democrats... GOOOOBAAEEY!
2. Launch third party players (most Libertarian of course) at the Republicans to keep them in shape.
Imagine a U.S. Governing body where the kinds of questions debated in Congress are like "Should we close down the public schools and go completely private... or should we let the schools coexist with the private schools much like the U.S. Post Office coexists with Emery and Federal Express?"
As long as Democrats have a single seat in either the House or Senate, you'll have to backtrack when some Barbara Boxer in the crowd starts spouting inanities like "I'm sure Donald Trump would like this Bill!".
The Republicans can use a debate partner. Just not the gobledygook variety that they've had for the last 70 years or so that make it easy for the Republicans pretend that THEY are the sole protectors of RESPONSIBILITY.
What of that one particular entry in the Bill of Rights?
Incidentally, the Republicans have been pretty good with the most important item on the list of The Bill of Rights. That is the 2nd Amendment.
It is always and always has been the most corrupt governments in the world that least trust their citizens with the balance of power between the government and its citizens that was meant to be protected by the 2nd Amendment.
Once the 2nd Amendment is gone, you won't have to wait too long to see the rest of the Bill of Rights follow. On the flip side... as long as the general public is armed, it will be harder for the government to tell us what to say and otherwise impede on the rights that... yes... sometimes HAVE TO BE FOUGHT FOR!
Wouldn't it be nice, if for a change, all the scrutiny constantly placed on the Bill of Rights would instead be applied to the mostly destructive Amendments 11 and up.
Many Americans have become discouraged with the process of the election process. Americans see some things they fear in the views of at least some of those that are allied with the Republican Party.
This election is not about giving Republicans full control!
This election is not about "making a statement"!
This election represents your RESPONSIBILITY to do your best to steer America in the right direction.
