There are plenty of recent unanswered who-done-it’s that would leave any sane person to wonder, at least a bit, about the price a society must ultimately pay for the reckless disregard for principles and quality of character that has made possible, the great American indignity of a Clinton White House.
Vincent Foster, Ron Brown, James McDougal, Sandy Hume, Mary Mahoney, Admiral Jeremy Boorda and so many others are now, and under dramatically mysterious circumstances, somewhat less able to tell of their own problems with a corrupt Presidency. Yet, even in their significant and increasing numbers, these apparent human casualties of a corrupt presidency, are made almost insignificant, as the mass poisoning that began with a sleazy deal between Al Gore and Arco, continues to plague Californians and the environment.
The deal, by all appearances, was one motivated solely by the need to get rid of an otherwise difficult to dispose of a byproduct toxic waste, known as MTBE. Upon its first being proposed as a possible gasoline "additive", the American Medical Association began a campaign to warn the EPA and the public at large, of the dangers of the toxin to humans. Naturally enough, at the Environmental Protection Agency, there was a bit too strong an allegiance to Al Gore and his co-conspirators, and not quite enough to their responsibility to protect the environment, and so Californian’s began to experience their first significant toxic exposure at the gas pumps.
The original "winterized" gasoline, was the prototype for what would ultimately become a year-round "oxygenated" concoction. Presented as an environmentally friendly measure, that pollution reduction part of the new formulation, could only be understood by those experiencing the richness of another California prototype for the Clinton view of a brighter future: "fuzzy math."
Here’s how it was supposed to help the environment:
Of course, the new formulation took the good folks at Arco a lot of money to research (and for the lobbying required to ensure that other petroleum companies doing business in California would have to poison their gas too!) Even the fuzzy math student Californians’ are reasonably prepared to understand the higher gasoline prices that resulted from this great advance in petroleum technology.
Years have gone by, and the likes of Barbara Boxer have played the politics. More than two years ago, anyone watching her speak at the local political indoctrination meetings at high schools around the state, would have believed that, even though she clearly is an idiot, at least, she really did care about the issue of the new poison Gore Gas.
Apart from the speech, not much action on her part either. Still the poison flows, ruining our health, automobiles, boats, lakes and the environment. Next time you have a really good migraine headache after pouring the crap at your favorite self-serve, remember Arco, Gore, Boxer and all the other criminals, who are, by their own shady deals or complacency, behind the massive destruction that starts every time the needle gets down to "E."
