Not too long ago, Apple was on the receiving end of apparent trade name issue when Carl Sagan filed suit against the Cupertino based computer maker. The famed ass-tronomer was troubled by Apple's internal use of the name "Sagan" for a Macintosh model prototype. After receiving from Sagan an order of "cease and desist", the name was changed to B.H.A., which Sagan's attorney alleged was an acronym for "Butt-Head-Astronomer".
Ultimately, the case was thrown out and the newspapers reported "Carl Sagan won't be getting billions and billions from Apple."
Now, after apparently having been inspired by Sagan's own inability
to recognize flattery, Apple has strong-armed GeoCities into shutting down
the popular iBrator page. This was a particularly troubling development
for iMac users, who are usually desperate for anything to hook up to their
Mac OS powered system. Even though the iBrator wasn't real, at least
they could fantasize.
There is no word yet as to whether Apple has an iBrator product of
their own planned.
UPDATE: Good news! The iBrator content has since been moved
to a new "permanent" home and can now be viewed here:
