From the Mouths of Children
The spoiled children of N.O.W. show their colors

    DeepWaterWeb letters

This bit of drivel actually appeared on the N.O.W. site:

"UNBORN VICTIMS" OF VIOLENCE -- A STEALTH
On October 1, the House passed by a vote of 254-172 a particularly deceptive
anti-reproductive rights bill, entitled the "Unborn Victims of Violence Act
of 1999" (H.R. 2436) which would punish anyone who caused the death of a
fetus through injury to a pregnant woman. This is the first time that fetal
rights have been addressed at the federal level and, if passed by the
Senate, and signed into law would have far-reaching negative consequences
for women's reproductive rights. Rep. Zoe Lofren (D-CA) offered a substitute
which corrected the intent of the bill to focus on the injured woman and
deleted the recognition of the fetus as a separate individual, but it failed
        by 201-224.
Passage by the House at this time was intended as a show of strength to the
Christian Coalition which had gathered in Washington for its annual meeting.

The sponsors of "Unborn Victims of Violence Act of 1999", Reps. Lindsey
Graham (R-SC), Chris Smith (R-NJ), and Charles Canady (R-FL), are hardcore
reproductive rights opponents.  They claim this legislation would protect
women and fetuses against violence, yet none of H.R. 2436's  sponsors have
signed on to the Violence Against Women Act or have been leaders previously
in the effort to combat violence against women.

Although intentional violence that causes a woman to miscarry or brings
about harm to normal fetal development is a tragedy, the approach taken in
this bill is grossly misguided and could threaten women's reproductive
rights. Injury inflicted upon a fetus is done so against a woman, therefore
punishment for such crimes should be prosecuted as crimes against women.
This bill is simply a back door attempt to obtain separate rights for the
fetus. Changing the criminal system to include independent prosecution for
harming fetus is a dangerous legal precedent which would have broad
implications in limiting women's rights, generally.

        ACTION NEEDED:
NOW activists should do everything they can to oppose this particularly
dangerous bill.  Call your Senators and urge them to vote against any fetal
rights legislation. Be sure to watch out for any similar bills introduced in
your state legislature and let us know as well

    SUBJECT: Shameless and Clueless

Too all the "Meat is Murder" (unless it happens to be a human fetus)
leftists... and whatever variety of leftist you might consider yourselves to be...

Whereas I personally have come from a "Pro Choice" background, and I recognize that government should do nothing to prevent nor to encourage feticide (a purely objective term which I use in place of the euphemism "abortion" that you are probably more familiar with), there are TWO basic bits of wisdom that would have to be missing, in order for the viewpoints expressed by your childish club to survive.

    1.  To a SUBSTANTIALLY MORE significant degree than child molestation (for which I am certain you advocate government intervention), feticide IS a moral decision that most definitely affects the recipient of such a "procedure".

    2.  The destruction of a fetus as part of a violent crime most definitely deserves consideration in part of the loss-of-life equation that SHOULD be considered in any by any reasonable justice system.  This is true irrespective of a dogmatic dismissal of the human value of those humanoids who haven't received their first breath of air outside of the womb.

Separately, "abortion rights" is a complete non-issue. With the technology that exists now, even the grossest reversal of the "rights" of expectant mothers, could never lead to the "coat hanger" scenario constantly cited to stir fears into the souls of the ultimate-in-soulless spoiled children calling themselves "feminists".

Yet, with the help of the nitwits at NOW, abortion will continue to be the center piece of the great manipulation that exploits the female vote.  The whole world could be ablaze, and yet, most women will continue to vote with their crotch on the single, and tired issue of preserving the ultimate symbol of "women in power", fast, free and easy feticide for all!

Of course, if I'm mistaken on any of the above points, I'd be pleased to engage the brightest of your little girl's club in debate.

    Most sincerely,

Although N.O.W. had responded pleasantly to an earlier product information request (panties with the N.O.W. logo appearing front-and-center), to date, only an new N.O.W. member application has come in from N.O.W. in answer to the charges of naiveté, ignorance, personal indulgence, cognitive deficiency and evil, as presented to them in the above letter.  So... I sent them one more email as follows:

    SUBJECT: Now Membership Information...

Oh oh... I think you might have misinterpreted the nature of my earlier email. Well, in the interest of sharing great truth and wisdom, I posted it here:

I do thank you for the opportunity to join. Whereas I am in favor of men and women being treated WELL, just like with any other species on earth, men and women are different. Treating them both "equally" requires that one or both different genders be treated inappropriately.

I for one am in favor of the best treatment of children, better treatment of women and good treatment of men. As with children, the measure of good and fair treatment is not linearly proportional to either independence and especially not appeasement.

The present day N.O.W. agenda calls for the inappropriate treatment of both male and female human beings, and especially the children of either gender. It also suffers from an unfortunate inability to distinguish the availability of fast, free and easy feticide from a more realistic measure of the treatment of women.

All in all, N.O.W. is not quite now. There is yet a long road ahead.

That does not mean that there is no hope for N.O.W. I am not terribly optimistic, however, that any ideological refinement is soon to come for either the leaders or followers among N.O.W. members.

    Warmest regards,
